Passion for the Profession
I truly enjoy what I do. Being an orthodontist, I have the opportunity to dramatically improve the lives of my patients. I take joy in facilitating this transformation. I feel a deep responsibility to provide a comfortable experience and a quality result. I understand that this is your life we’re talking about and I want you to live it smiling.
Over a decade of experience and education have given me the tools to handle the most difficult of treatments. I am experienced in the use of braces, clear braces, Invisalign, and Insignia custom braces. As an educator, I remain current on the latest research and technology. Most importantly, our team cares. When you’re done with treatment we believe you’re going places. We want you to go there smiling.
Education and Experience
I have been a dentist since 2001 when I graduated with honors from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. Afterwards, I joined the US Navy and served as a dental officer in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and San Diego. During this time, I realized my passion for orthodontics. I continued my education for another three years at the St. Barnabas Hospital Residency Program in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics. Since then, I have specialized in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. This higher level of education and my years of experience provide me the expertise to handle the most difficult of treatments.
I inherited my passion for teaching from my mother who is an award-winning nationally recognized educator. I am Chief of Orthodontics at NYU Lutheran Pediatric Dental Residency Program located at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. I developed the current program where I provide lecture and clinical orthodontic instruction to future pediatric dentists. In addition to personal fulfillment, teaching keeps me current on the latest research and technology. Without a doubt, it has made me a better orthodontist.

I opted to join the US Navy after graduating from dental school. This decision would turn out to be one of the best I have ever made and the beginning of an incredible adventure. Like many things in life, the military is what you make of it. For me it was a priceless education, which I will always treasure. For those considering a life in the military, I’m always happy to discuss this life-changing decision.
